Anna Bates was united in marriage to Henry Hawk Feb. 21, 1888. To their happy home came four children; three sons, Ralph, Ray and Kenneth Hawk and one daughter, Gail Hawk. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry and daughter, Gail.

She leaves to mourn her passing her three sons; Ralph, Ray and Kenneth Hawk of Bonaparte, Iowa; and one grandson, Bates Hawk of Detroit, Mich. She also leaves several nieces and nephews as well as many friends.

She was the daughter of Joel and Elizabeth Bates, born Feb. 4, 1869 in Salina, Iowa. She is the last of her immediate family. Her parents, two sisters and four brothers preceded her in death.

She was well known and dearly loved by all her relatives and friends. Her smiling face, many deeds of kindness and thoughtfulness will always be remembered by everyone.

Funeral services in charge of Rev. Richard Eis were held at the Bonaparte Methodist church at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, with burial at Bonaparte cemetery.
