George Benton Meredith, son of Jesse and Mary Meredith was born Oct. 10, 1861 and passed away Dec. 6, 1941, aged 80 years, 1 month and 26 days.

He was married to Bina M. House March 10, 1880. To this union four children were born. She passed away Oct. 6, 1909.

November 15, 1914 he was married to Mrs. Bertha Null.

He spent his entire life in and near Bonaparte where he was fatally burned Oct. 25, 1941.

He is survived by four children, Otto of Bonaparte, Clyde of Wenatchee, Wash., Mrs. Grace Weigle of Inglewood, Calif., and Mrs. Pearl Burnett of Keosauqua; also two sisters, Mrs. Luella Perkins and Mrs. Bertha Whitlock, both of Bonaparte.

Services were held at his home in Bonaparte Dec. 8, 1941 in charge of Rev. Walter Sieck. Interment in the Bonaparte cemetery.
