Daisy Eliza Beard

Daisy Eliza Peterie was born in Van Buren county near Farmington on March 31, 1876 and passed away at the Van Buren Memorial hospital in Keosauqua, Dec. 19, 1956. She was the daughter of Sarah and Newton Peterie. Her father died when she was four years old and her mother had the tast of raising her and her only brother, Clyde, who reached maturity. From childhood, she spent her life in Bonaparte and was a friend to everyone.

In October of 1900 she was married to Thomas B. Beard and together they established a home in Bonaparte where the Arden Grays now reside.

Daisy was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, a member of the Presbyterian church, their Aid Society and Sunshine Society and was a very devoted worker in them all. She also belonged to Chapter AB, P.E.O.

Her immediate family had preceded her in death but she left cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral at Bonaparte Baptist church, Sunday, Dec. 23 at 2 p.m., conducted by her Presbyterian pastor, the Rev. Edward I. Beall. Burial in Bonaparte Cemetery.
