Charles T. Cornell, 59, of Barnsley, South Yorkshire, England, formerly of Fort Madison, died Saturday, October 8, 1988 in Barnsey, England. The family had lived in Bonaparte before moving to Fort Madison.
Born October 17, 1928 in Bonaparte, he was the son of William and Lyda Keeler Cornell. He married Kathleen Sykes in December, 1953 in Barnsley, England. She died February 22, 1985.
He was a master sergeant with the United States Air Force before retiring and had been employed with the Department of Transportation, Yorkshire parish, England, before retiring.
Surviving are one brother, Kenneth Cornell, Fort Madison and four sisters, Mrs. Maxine Biegler, Fort Madison, Mrs. Marjorie Brookhart, Fairfield, Mrs. Darlene (Gerald) Davis, Downers Grove, Illinois and Mrs. Cathy (Jack) Klein, Fenton.
Services for Mr. Cornell were held Saturday, October 22, 1988 at King-Lynk Funeral Home, Fort Madison with Reverend James Lloyd officiating. Burial was in the Bonaparte Cemetery.
