Donald W. Bell, 75, Leisure Living, Route 2, died at 9:40 p.m. Saturday July 16, 1988 at Ottumwa Regional Health Center, Ottumwa.

The service will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Buford Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Bonaparte Cemetery, Bonaparte. Friends may call as they desire at the funeral home. A memorial has been established to the Bell family.

Bell was born Dec. 26, 1912 in Fairfield, the son of James F. and Permelia Davidson Bell. He married Glorena Van Natten Sept. 14, 1932. She died June 17, 1965. He married Betty Haynes Aug. 21, 1965. A lifelong resident of Jefferson County, he was employed at United Telephone Company for more than 20 years before his retirement.

Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Beverly Barutio of Trust, N.C., Sandra Baker of Birmingham, Donnene Bell of Fairfield; a son, Gordon of Donnellson; a stepson, Morris Longcor, Jr. of Glenwood; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, John of Monticello, Velmer of Fairfield and Merlin of Petersburg, Alaska.

His parents, four sisters, seven brothers, two sons and a daughter preceded him in death.
