Nova L. Hendrichsen, daughter of William G. and Joanna Bond Decker, was born March 13, 1909 at Rubio, Iowa and died Monday, October 24, 1988 at Burlington Medical center at the age of 79.

She grew up in Washington and Keokuk counties and married Herman H. Hendrichsen February 15, 1930 in Washington. They have lived on their present farm northwest of Bonaparte since 1936 and attended the Bonaparte United church. Mrs. Hendrichsen was a member of the Van Buren County Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, the Van Buren Genealogical Society and was a charter member of the Woods Club

Survivors include her husband, Herman, two daughters; Joanna Horstman and Jean Saunders, both of Bonaparte; three sons, Herman, Jr., of Fairfield and Duane and Larry, both of Burlington, 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a brother, Merle Decker of Douds, other relatives and friends. An infant son, Jerry Dean, a brother and two sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Thursday, October 27, 1988 at 2:30 p.m., in the Bonaparte United Church with the Rev. Fred Malone officiating. Interment was in Bonaparte Cemetery. A memorial was established and gifts may be sent in care of Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua.
