Mrs. Melissa Ann Drummond, daughter of Edward and Mary Rupe Jones was born August 2,1879, near Mt. Sterling and departed this life Wednesday, Feb.4,1976 at Nelson Nursing Home in Fairfield at the age of 96.She lived her life in the Mt. Sterling community. She and her late husband Allen Drummond operated a cafe in Mt. Sterling for a number of years. remaining to cherish her memory are a daughter, Juanita Hoffman of Vacaville, Ca; a stepson, Victor Drummond of Williamsville,New York, six grandchildren, two great nephews, Fred and Joe Miller from Mt. Sterling, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Saturday Feb.7,1976 at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, Interment was in Harness Cemetery, near Mt. Sterling.
