Died, Saturday, September 27, 1902, at the home of her father, Charles Perse in Warsaw, Ill., Mrs. Sarah Jane DeWitt, wife of Chas. P. DeWitt; aged 41 years, 10 months and 13 days.
A the death of Mrs. DeWitt was especially sad. A few weeks ago she went from Bonaparte with her little son, who was stricken with typhoid fever, hoping the change would benefit him. He was a very sick child and for days it seemed as if he could not possibly survive. A change came for the better, but almost the same moment the mother became ill and her decline was rapid. Worn out with watching and nursing, she passed into a state of collapse and death followed.
Sarah Jane Perse was born in Warsaw November 14, 1860. September 12, 1894, she was united in marriage to Chas. P. DeWitt, and to this union two children were born, one preceded her to the better land. She leaves a husband, one child, a father, four brothers and one sister to mourn her demise. The deceased was a loving daughter, a faithful wife, and a kind mother. The deceased was a sister of Miss Nannie Perse of this place.
