Franklin Macklin was born in Clark county, Missouri, April 3, 1876, and died at Keokuk, Iowa, Sept. 10, 1902, after a few weeks illness of typhoid fever, having lived 26 years, 6 months and 7 days.

He was well known and loved in Bonaparte having spent five years of his life here, but the last three years were spent in Hannibal, St. Louis and Keokuk, and the beautiful floral offering sent with the remains from that place showed how highly he was esteemed there.

He was an industrious young man and of good habits, and as he died away from his loving brothers and sisters and was so soon to be married to a lady residing in West Keokuk makes the shock more sad.

He leaves to mourn his loss besides a host of sorrowing friends, four brothers and three sisters. His father, mother and two sister having gone before, one sister dying in January of this year.

The body was brought to this city Friday and taken to the burying ground at Anson where interrment [sic] was made.
