Mary Ann Overhulser, daughter of Henry and Barbara Overhulser, was born on what is now the Prunty the farm near Farmington March 1, 1851. From here she moved to Pike county Missouri, with her parents and remained for a short time. After her mother's death, which occurred when she was quite young, she made her home with her sister, Mrs. Margurite [sic] Boyer. She was married to a Elijah Fine Aug. 11, 1870. To this union were born eight children, five of whom survive her. She was one of a family of nine children, six of whom are living. Two brothers and one sister are living in Clark county, Missouri, one brother is in California and the other two sisters, Mrs. Marguerite Boyer and Mrs. Emily Fine, live in Farmington.
She was converted and joined the Christian church in 1875 and has since lived a consistent Christian life. She was an affectionate wife and a devoted mother and served her family with that utmost devotion which characterized her whole life. Her influence is plainly noticed in the character stamped on her children. Her religion was of a practical kind and showed itself not only in the treatment of the family but in her attitude toward all with whom she came in contact. It can be truthfully said of her that she had no enemies. Her disposition of kindness and love won for her in return the love and respect of all. Her death occurred Monday noon, June 5, 1905, and will be limited by the whole community. The bereaved family have a host of friends. The funeral was held from the residence last Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. H. Taylor, and her remains were laid to rest in Green Glade cemetery.
