Services were held for Emma Schmidt

Bonaparte-Emma Caroline Schmidt died suddenly at her home in Bonaparte wednesday, April 4, about 1:30 in the afternoon.

She had been up and about as usual, and had been out in the yard inspecting her flowerbeds when she was suddenly stricken.

Emma was the daughter of Fredrick A. and Caroline [Ida Karoline] Schau Schmidt, and was born on a farm three and one-half miles south of Bonaparte, March 4, 1883. She was united in marriage to Fred Schmidt November 14, 1906.

To this union were born three children, Gladys of Salinas, Calif., LeRoy of Stockort, and Harley of Kansas city.

She was a member of the Methodist Church of Bonaparte, the Order of the Eastern Star, Royal Neighbors of America, and the Women's Society of Christian Service.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Bernard, William, Carl, and Herman and two sisters, Minnie and Dena.

Surviving are her widower, three children, four grandchildren, Jenette, LeRoy Jr., Ann, and Dennis Schmidt, and one brother and a host of friends.

Funeral service in charge of Rev. J.S. Ellis and held in the Bonapare Methodist Church Friday, April 6, at 2 pm. Burial was in the Bonaparte Cemetery.
