Vera Frances Schmidt, daughter of George and Allie Schmidt, was born at Farmington, Iowa, Dec. 8, 1910, and departed this life Nov. 25, 1933, at Keokuk, Iowa, following a short illness which consummated in peritonitis.

Besides her bereaved husband, a heartbroken father and mother, she leaves to mourn her passing two brothers Carl and Kenneth at home, one sister, Georgia Miller of Des Moines; also a niece and nephew to who she was attached, Marlene Miller of Des Moines, and Junior at home. She aslo leaves a grandmother, Mrs. Belle Brabham of Des Moines, aunts, uncles, and cousins, besides a host of friends.

Twin sisters Bernice and Bernell, preceded her in death in 1908.

At the age of 12 she gave her heart to God and was a member of the Nazarene church. To know Vera was to love her, but our loss is heaven's gain.

"I cannot say and will not say that she is dead. She is just away, with a cheery smile and a wave of her hand. She wandered into that unknown land, and left us dreaming. How very fair it needs must be since she lingers there. An you; oh you! who wildest yearn for that old time step And gay return; thing of her as dear in the love of there, as the love of here, Think of her then as the same, I say she is not dead, she is just Away."

Funeral services at Farmington Nazarene church Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 2:30 PM, Rev. Ireland officiating. Interment in Green Glade cememtery at Farmington.
