George C. Schmidt, 86, of Farmington, died unexpectedly at7 a.m. tuesday, Feb. 8 at his home after shoveling his walks.
He was born Sept 27, 1885 at Farmington, the son of Frederick and Caroline Schau Schmidt.
His marriage to Alice Irene Brabham took place March 5, 1907 at Farmington. She died in 1969.
Mr. Schmidt was a member of the Farmington Church of the Nazarene.
He was a retired employee of the Iowa Highway Commission.
He is survived by two sons, Carl of Farmington and Kenneth of Burlington; and one daughter Georgia Miller of Des Moines; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 1:000 pm Thursday, February 10, in the Farmington Church of the Nazarene. The body is at the Miller Hofbauer Funeral Home, Farmington.
