Stella McElroy was born in Cantril, Iowa, on December 8, 1889 at what is now the Christian church parsonage. She was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. F. McElroy. When but a small child she moved with her parents to Mt. Sterling, Iowa, where they made their home for about ten years. From there they moved to Oklahoma, living there about two years when they returned to Cantril, where with her parents Stella has made her home for the last nine years.
She leaves of the immediate family the father, mother, and sister Mrs. Lottie Roberts, besides the relatives, loved ones, and the large circle of friends. The funeral was held at the Christian church Sunday afternoon March 5, 1911, at 2 o’clock, conducted by Rev. Tennant. Six of her girl friends, Bernice Saar, Chloe Powell, Vergil Roberts, Georgia Smith, Bessie McLeland and Thereisa Warner acted as pall bearers. Interment was made in the Maple Grove cemetery.
