MRS. SAMUEL STEWART
Emma Alice Stewart, the subject of this sketch, was born in this county, near Mt. Sterling, Iowa, March 2, 1851, and died at her home Sept. 9, 1913, aged 62 years, 5 months and 7 days. She was the youngest of two daughters born to Mr. And Mrs. Samuel Blackledge. The older daughter died several years since. Emma was united in marriage to Samuel Stewart, Sept. 17, 1871. Theirs was a mutual love; contentment and happiness blessed their union. Two more wonderfully suited to each other could hardly be found. For 2 years Mrs. Stewart’s father lived with them. When he died loving hands laid him away. For seventeen years Mrs. Stewart’s mother, known everywhere as Grandma, has made her home with them. Grandma has been remarkably blessed in at least two ways: For seventeen years she has had a real home, where filial affection was constantly in evidence; and God has blessed her, even until now, with a wonderful mind and mem- (rest is missing)
