Roscoe R. Henderson, 69, of Milton Route 1, died June 24, 1989 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
He was born Sept. 17, 1919, in Davis County to James and Ramie Kinsler Henderson. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He married Betty R. Stephenson, on Oct. 6, 1946. in Nashua; she died in 1980.
He is survived by a son, Alan of rural Milton; a daughter, Connie Robertson of Drakesville; four grandchildren;' a brother, Lonel of Memphis, Mo.; and six. sisters, Esthel Shelton of Des Moines, Aurthella Dodge of Milton, Helen Thompson of Drakesville, Leona Keesey of Keokuk, Elsie Benge of Kansas City, Mo. and Inez Bonar of Denmark, Iowa.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 1989 at Shaul Cemetery, Ottumwa, the Rev. Andrew Rubenking of Milton United Methodist Church officiating.
Milton American Legion Post will be in charge of military services at the grave.
A memorial has been established to Iowa Chapter of the Nature Conservancy.
Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
