Obituary of David Clemens

David Clemens, son of Samuel and Matilda A. Clemens, was born at New Philadelphia, Ohio, June 12, 1850. Moved to Iowa at the age of fifteen. He grew to manhood on the farm near Pittsburg, and after his marriage to Miss Mary A. Bonner, January 4, 1876, continued farming until the year 1885, when they moved to Keosauqua.

This marriage was blessed with seven children: Miss R. Della, who was called by death in December, 1898; Luther died June 1882, John W., May 1911; the living are: Mrs. W.R. Davidson, of Des Moines; Harley at home; Mrs. P. Rupplinger of this city; Lynn of Des Moines.

For a brief period Mr. Clemens had been afflicted, but looked forward to a Golden Wedding Anniversary two years hence. However death released him from further suffering Tuesday evening, August 5, 1924, at the age of 74 years, 1 month, 24 days.
