Emma Parker Bridge, daughter of Edward and Sarah Parker, was born in Burslem, England, and passed away in her home at Bonaparte on June 30, 1930. In early childhood she came with her parents to the U. S., the family locating in Cincinnati, Ohio; Portage, Wis., Alton, Ill., and Bonaparte, Iowa, where the father passed away. The mother then moved to Dover, Lee County, Iowa, where Emma grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage with James Bridge at Franklin, Lee County, Iowa, there the home was established until they came to Bonaparte, where Mr. Bridge passed away in 1905.

To this union four children were born; Lee Edward, deceased, Mrs. Nellie Cox, Sidney P., deceased and Mrs. Clay Ketcham.

All her life a Christian worker, she was a consistent member of the Bonaparte Presbyterian church being president of the Ladies Aid society for many, many years.

Ever an ardent temperance worker, she became a charter member of the Mr. Hamill W.C.T.U.

Mrs. Bridge was indeed a friend in need, always ministering to the wants and cares of others. Many are the remembrances her friends will cherish.

Of her immediate family there remain to mourn their loss, one brother, Wm. Parker of Bloomfield, and her two daughters, Mrs. Nellie Cox of Garden City, Minn., and Mrs. Clay Ketcham of Mt. Hamill, 12 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
