Keosauqua -- Loren MacDonald, 66, died at the Ferguson nursing home in Bonaparte at 6 a.m. February 7. He had been the patient at the nursing home since suffering a stroke in August 1951.

McDonald was the son of Frank and Josephine McDonald, and was born at West branch on December 28, 1886. Most of his life was spent in Keosauqua.

McDonald never married. He is survived by two brothers and three sisters: Lewis Mcdonald, Keosauqua; Herbert McDonald and Mrs. Rena Nelson, both of Las Vegas, Nevada; Mrs. John Slutts, Ottumwa, and Mrs. Harold Elliott, of Aurora, Illinois. One brother and two sisters died previously.

Last rites will be held at the Burnett-Catcott funeral home at 2 p.m. Monday. The Reverend Homer C. Dalrymple, pastor of the Congregational Church, will officiate, and burial will be in Purdum Cemetery.
