Jesse Arthur McLeland, son of Newton and Minerva McLeland, was born Oct. 24, 1886 at Cantril, Ia. He died in McCook (Nebraska) Nov. 17 (1953).

In Dec. 1905 with his parents he came to Palisade to live. He was married to Alta Roberts May 10, 1910.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Richard of Portland, Ore., Lester and Gerald of McCook; one daughter Esther, who lives at home; three brothers, Ennis of Milton, Ore., Ernest of Denver, and Hollis of Hayes Center; two sisters, Mrs. June Brown of Denver and Mrs. Bertha Smith of Portland; and five grand daugthers, Jacolyn, Geraldine, Bonnie, Susan and Lynda, all of McCook.
