William Glen Whitcanack, son of John and Della Doan Whitcanack, was born April 28, 1919, near Mt. Sterling and died Feb. 29, 1984, at Moline Public Hospital, Moline, IL.

He attended public schools in Van Buren County and graduated from high school in Cantril in 1937.

He was married to Orietta Billiet May 6, 1944, in Annawan, IL.

He retired from J. I. Case Co. in 1983, after having suffered a heart attack.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Gary, of Silvis, IL, three daughters, Judy Gushanas, Moline, IL, Glenda Whitcanack, Silvis, IL, and Cathy McNichols of Milan, IL, eight grandchildren, two sisters, Verda Parmelee of Los Angeles, CA, Marie Hughes, Cantril, and four brothers, Hollis and Richard of Arcadia, CA, Orville, Cantril, and Dale of East Moline, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Delbert, and one sister, Helen Carnahan.

Funeral services were held March 3, 1984, at the De Roo Funeral Home in Moline, IL. Entombment was in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, East Moline, IL.
