CHARLES P. LAZENBY
Charles Philip, son of A.G. and Anna Lee Lazenby, was born near Keosauqua Iowa, April 22, 1901, and passed away March 3, 1942, aged 40 years, 10 months and 9 days.
On April 15, 1925 he was united in marriage with Opal M. Gove. To this union one son Francis Albert was born.
Charles had lived all his life in Van Buren County Iowa, where he was engaged in various business enterprises. For the past five years he has operated the Lazenby Motor Co. at Keosauqua.
He was well and favorably known as a businessman, not only in his home community but over much of southern Iowa as well. He was of a cheerful disposition and his ready smile won for him an enlarging circle of friends. He was admired and respected by his fellow businessmen and loved by all who knew him. His sudden passing has socked and saddened the entire community.
As a boy he united with the Presbyterian Church at Bentonsport. He was also a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of Fairfield Iowa.
Beside his wife and son, Francis Albert he is survived by his father A.G. Lazenby and two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Kathryn Griffiths of Cantril, Mrs. Ve Blackburn, and David Lazenby of Keosauqua, also one niece and two nephews and a host of friends.
His chief interests centered about his home and his business and to these he gave himself with utter abandon.
Funeral serviced, conducted by Rev. C.H. Orf, were held from the Methodist Church Thursday afternoon, March 5, 1942. Interment was in the Fellows Cemetery at Keosauqua Iowa
I am not related to this person.
