He was married to Miss Sarah Ann Brewster, in 1875 To this uniton were born four children all of whom are living and were present at the funeral.

Mr. Green was one of a family of 12 chldren, four of whom preceded him to the great beyond, the first born who died in infancy, Mrs. Elizabeth Shreve, Mrs. Belle Hall and Miss Emma. He leaves to mourn their loss a devoted loving wife, four children, Mrs. Jennie Weller, Mrs. Julia Pitney, Charles Green of near Acasto and James Green of Sogourney; two brothers, John, on the home farm in Clark County, MO and William of Farmington; five sisters, Mrs. Ann Collins, Mrs. Dora Gares, and Mrs. Ella Enderwirsen, of Clark Co. Mr. Green was a very active and industrious citizen. In a business way and socially he had came into contact with a large portion of his fellowmen. His high and lofty opinions and ideals of justice, integrity and truth made him hosts of friends. His motto was the Golden Rule, and he practiced it in all of his walks of life. It may be truly said of him that his friends were numbered by his acquaintances. A dutiful son, a devoted husband, a kind and indulgent father, a citizen of unquestioned and unsullied character has gone to his reward. His face will be missed, but his noble character will be remembered and his name revered by his many friends. May his ashes rest in peace.

A short service was held at the home at 12:30 Monday morning, followed by a service in the Acasto church seven miles away. That community paid loving tribute to his memory by filling the church to overflowing and by many expressions of sorrow and sympathy. Rev. H.W. Mun(?), of the Farmington M.E. church gave a beautiful and comforting message from the text: "There shall be no more death."

Interment ws made in the Acasto cemetery. A touching tribute to his memory was the closing of all the Farmington business houses for an hour during the noon service. The family greatly appreciated all these tokens of sympathy and esteem and expressed their most cordial thanks to all friends and neighbors.
