SERVICES MONDAY FOR MRS. PITNEY
Passed Away At Her Home In Farmington, Sat., October 21
Funeral services were held from the local Methodist church Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock for Mrs. Ella Willits Pitney, with Rev. Butler of Milton and Rev. Dale Nicholson, officiating. Interment was in the Acasto Cemetery.
Ella Willits Pitney, daughter of (?) N. and Nancy Beck Willits, was born in Van Buren County, Iowa, on July 4, 1876, and passed away at her home in Farmington on October 21, 1939 at the age of 63 years, 3 months and 17 days.
On May 4, 1899 she was united in marriage to James W. Pitney, and with him started housekeeping on a farm near Acasto, Missouri, where she lived until the fall of 1935. At which time she and her husband moved to Farmington, Iowa, where she spent the remainder of her days.
The years spent in their farm home near Acasto are years in which the splendid qualities of her life have won for her many many lasting friendships. The years of residence in Farmington though fewer in number have been blessed with further ties of friendship and her passing brings sadness to many a heart outside the family circle as well as within.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, James Pitney; two brothers, George Willits of Willits, California, and Eli Willits of Baldwin Park, Los Angeles, California; one sister, Mrs. Jennie Folker of Farmington, Iowa; other relatives and a host of friends.
