William Ray, oldest son of James Allen and Mary Ellen Helsel Campbell, was born near Milton, Iowa, July 16, 1888, and passed away at the Jefferson county hospital, October 4, 1932, after an illness of one year, being forty four years, two months and eighteen days.
He was united in marriage on October 27, 1909, to Nellie Frances Allender, of Birmingham Iowa. To this union were born two children, James Allender and Mary Frances, both at home.
He was united with the Methodist church at Fairfield, Iowa, in 1916, and has been a member since that time.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother and sistr.
He is survived by his wife and children; one sister, Mrs. Clarence Clayton of Milton Iowa; and one brother Jay, of Mt Sterling Iowa.
Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon, October 6, at the Campbell funeral home in Fairfield Iowa, conducted by Rev. Bauer of Stockport. Burial was made in Evergreen cemetery.
The pallbearers were Earl Russell, Roxie Lawson, Fayette McKee, Lloyd Workman, Dale Workman and Harold Gardner. I am not related and am posting this obituary for those who may find this person in their family history.
