Carrie Clayton, daughter of James A. and Mary Luella Campbell, was born near Milton Iowa, July 30, 1890 and passed away at her home near Lebanon, January 2, 1933 after an illness of eight weeks, although she has been failing in health for almost two years. Her age at the time of her death was forth two years, five months and two days.
She was united in marriage on June 12, 1910 to William Clarence Clayton of Lebanon Iowa. To this union was born two children. She was preceded in death by one son dying in infancy; her father and mother; and a brother William Ray, who passed away less than three months ago; and one sister and one brother dying in infancy.
At the time of her death she was a member of Jackson Temple No. 47 Pythian Sisters of Milton, Iowa.
She is survived by her husband and daughter Mary Christine; and one brother N. Jay Campbell of Mt Sterling Iowa.
In early life she united with the Methodist church at Milton. She was of a kind and cheerful disposition, winning for herself many friends. She will be greatly missed in her home and community.
Funeral services were held at the family home on Wednesday, January 4, 1933 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Gilbert of Cantril, officiating. Interment was made in the Lebanon cemetery. I am not related and am posting this obituary for those who may find this person in their family history.
