Child killed at Keosauqua

KEOSAUQUA - Wendy Wiley, 2 1/2 year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Wiley, was fatally injured when run over by the right rear duals of a hog-laden truck about noon Wednesday.

The accident happened in front of the filling station owned by her father, on Highway 1.

Driver of the truck was Earl Arnold, an employee of Wiley. Wiley is an auctioneer, a hog-buyer and businessman.

The little girl was pronounced dead upon arrival at Van Buren County Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she leaves an 8-month-old sister.
