William Davis Treblicock died at his home in Ford township, on December 1, 1900 after a short but severe illness, from a complication of diseases. Mr. Treblicock was a robust man in ordinary health, and his death has caused a shock among his friends. The funeral took place Sunday afternoon, the services being conducted by Rev. W.H. Patterson, in the M.E. Church at Ford. A large number of people attended the funeral. The remains were buried in the cemetery at Ford.
William Davis Treblicock was born in Van Buren County Iowa, October 14, 1857. He was married to Miss Melissa Alice Wallis, January 30, 1878. Seven children, five boys and two girls are the result of this union, and the children with the mother survive the father and deeply mourn his loss. Mr. Treblicock came to Kansas in November 1886 and settled in Ford County. He was a good citizen and an industrious man, He said he was not afraid to die. He was a member of the Modern Woodman and Watchman of the lodge at Ford. This society took charge of the funeral services. J.H. Treblicock of Wright, is father of the deceased, and he is well known to our citizens. Pearl Treblicock, a young attorney of this city, is a brother of the deceased. The mother of the deceased is also living. The deceased was a deputy Sheriff under appointment of Sheriff Hale. The citizens of Ford County sympathize with the family and relatives in their great affliction.
