Martha E. Stedman, the thrid in the family of eight childern of Augustus and Jane Weither, was born Sept. 1, 1856, and passed away at her home in Bonaparte July 11 1940.

She was united in marriage with Christopher Stedman Jan. 30 1887. They were the parents of two childern, Mrs Edna Culp of Peoria, ILL., and William of Chillicothe, Ill. Mr Stedman passed away Sept.12 1903.

Besides the son and daughter Mrs. Stedman is survived by one brother William Weiher of Bonaparte, and two sisters, Mrs Nancy White of Bonaparte and Mrs Augusta Hardesty of Jacksonville, Florida, and six grandchildern, also several nieces and nephews.

She united with the Baptist church many years ago and attended services as long as she was able to do so. She spent her entire life in Bonaparte and vicinity.

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. L.E. Winfrey, were held at Bonaparte Baptist church Sunday afternoon. Interment was in Bonaparte cemetery
