James McCracken - Born Mercer Co., OH on August 30, 1837 and died March 10, 1910 at home in Harrison Twp., Van Buren Co. Age 72 years, 6 months, 10 days. When a small boy his parents moved to IA, with a few years in MO. Married Sarah J. Dean in 1861. Eight children, one died in infancy and the others are: W. E. McCracken; Mrs. Iowa Rankin; Mrs. Cora Smutz; Mrs. Jane Boley; Geo. McCracken; Mrs. Margaret Ewing and Mrs. Amy Ward. Leaves wife and 23 grandchildren, 1 sister, Mrs. Jane Shepherd and 2 brothers: Isaac of Bonaparte and Joseph of Red Cloud, NE. F-Bentonsport Cemetery, Bentonsport.
