John W. Burns - Born July 5, 1842. Died at home in Keosauqua on Easter Sunday, April 11, 1909. Survived by wife and one son, Charles, of Mason City. At St. Paul one son. Owen; Mary in Los Angeles, CA; and Dora, the eldest, in Keosauqua. One brother, Miles, Denver; a sister, Mrs. Tuttle, Watsonville, CA and numerous relatives. Age 67 years. Co. G. 3rd IA Cavalry through the War. F-Purdom Cemetery, Keosauqua.
