Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Doebler - Born Halifax, Dauphin Co., PA June 14, 1819 and died at the home of her granddaughter Mrs. Perry Ehrmon Murphy, Vernon, IA June 6, 1904 at the age of 84 years 11 months, 26 days. She came to Iowa in May 1840 and the following Spring married Henry Ehrmon who died in California, having gone there in the '50's Gold Rush. Six children: 3 sons and 3 daughters. Two sons and 2 daughters have preceded her in death, leaving one son, John, of Vernon, and daughter, Mrs. Louise Dean of Smith Center, KS with 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. One of the pioneer settlers. Kept house for her son-in-law, Rev. W. E. Patterson after death of his wife.
