Lutcher C. Cheney - Born in Sanbornton, NH on August 6, 1821. Died June 6, 1904 at Bonaparte. Married Betsy A. Smith in 1842 in his home of birth. Twenty years later with his family of 4 sons and 1 daughter he came to Iowa and located in the country now north of here. His wife died in 1887.
