Phoebe Ann Kritzman was born in Adams County Indiana, February 15, 1854, and died at her
home near Lebanon Iowa, October 12, 1919, at the age of 65 years, 7 months and 27 days.
She had been in failing health for the past fifteen months.
The early years of her life were spent in Illinois and Missouri. The later part of her life was
spent in Van Buren County Iowa, She was united in marriage to Charles Fisher at Athens
Missouri, January 12, 1869. To this union seven children were born, and all survive her,
namely, Henry, Mrs. Carrie Townsend, Edward C., Mrs. Mary E. Black, John A., Clarence W.
and Mrs. Helen Moore. Two sisters, Mrs. Emma Woodeard, of Keosauqua and Mrs. Carrie
Williams of Mesa Arizona and one brother John W. Kritzman of Milton. She also leaves nine
grandchildren to miss her and to mourn for her.
Her husband passed away March 29, 1915. She united with Christ and the Presbyterian
church at Lebanon in 1911 and remained a faithful member to her death. The deceased was
satisfied to live a quiet life, and to devote the best of herself to her children and her home at
which she attained great success. In addition to the virtues of her home and family, she had a
thought and a kindness for the needs and comfort of those around her. She will be missed in
her home and the entire community where she had lived so long.
The funeral service was conducted from the home on October 14, 1919 in the presence of all
her children and other relatives and a host of neighbors and friends. It revealed in what
esteem the deceased was held in the hearts of those who knew her in life, they loved her in
death.
It was a quiet funeral service, and conducted in accordance with her simple, modest but
earnest life, by her former pastor, Rev. A.C Beecham.
She was laid to rest in the family burying ground by the side of her departed companion in the
Lebanon Cemetery where he body was to wait the final great Judgment day; but the spirit had
gone to God who gave it.
The floral offering was beautiful and in keeping with the beautiful life the deceased had lived.
I am not related and am posting this obituary for those who might find this person in their family history.
