B. Franklin Pinnell was born in Davis County Iowa, February 5, 1851, and died at his home
southwest of Milton, May 3, 1908, aged 57 years, 2 months and 28 days. He was married to
Eva Simpson, March 3, 1873. Five children were born to this union, two dying in infancy. The
living are Homer of Snyder Oklahoma, Alva and Adah of this place. His wife died December
20, 1885. He was again united in marriage February 18, 1887, to Alice Baird. To them were
born two children; Raymond and Chloe. He was a true and loving husband, a kind and helpful
father and a man respected everywhere for his moral integrity.
All his life he has lived in the same neighborhood and has a host of friends who will greatly
miss him. He is the son of F.C.P. Pinnell, one of the pioneers of Davis County, and a man
whose word was as good as a note at any time. He enjoyed the respect and esteem of all,
was comfortably fixed, having a fine house and farm, well stocked and enjoyed life to the
fullest extent.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, five children, father, mother, three brothers; A.J. of Davis
County, J.S. of Grand Junction Colorado, T.S. of Coma Oklahoma, two sisters Mrs. Esula
Boyer of Scotland County Missouri, Amanda who still resides with her father, one half brother
Henry and one half sister Mrs. Mary Howell of Enid Oklahoma, together with a large number of
friends.
The funeral was held at South Prairie Chapel Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m.,
conducted by Rev. D.R. Martin of Milton, after which the remains were laid to rest in the
cemetery nearby.
Thus another good man has gone, another home left desolate, another vacant chair is empty
around the family circle. The grief stricken wife, children and relatives have the sympathy of
the entire community in their deep sorrow.
