I was browsing the Van Buren County obituary web site and came across an obituary of my great sunt, Kate (Strott) Kendall. Her maiden name was Sprott, not Strott and she was one of the youngest of thirteen children born to J. and Sarah Sprott. My father was Dee Bryson, Stockport, Iowa, son of Gene and Ida (Sprott) Bryson. Gene Bryson owned the Bryson Hotel in Hillsboro, Iowa, Henry County, and Aunt Kate went there to live and take care of five year old twin girls Ida and Gene had taken in when Ida passed away in 1915. She went to California to live with one of the twin girls, Retta, when my grandfather, Gene, passed away in 1940. I love browsing the Iowa web site looking for relatives. Thanks -- Sally (Bryson) Thornton.
