Sisters, Brother and Nephew Survive; Burial Tuesday At Hoskin Cemetery

Mrs. Amanda Mellott died at her home in the south part of Cantril about noon Monday following an illness of several months. She was one of Cantril's aged citizens. Her husband died several years ago.Mrs. Mellott leaves a sister, Miss Luna Woodin; a brother, Homer Woodin, and a nephew, Frank Woodin, all living in Cantril, and a sister, Mrs. Lydia Shull of California.
Funeral services were conducted at the home Tuesday afternoon. Burial was at the Hoskin cemetery on Home Prairie.

Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda Mellott were held at her home in Cantril June 21. The final rites were in charge of her pastor, the Rev. David Eastburn, and burial was at the Hoskin cemetery. The pallbearers were Henry Beaty, Hollis Saar, Leonard Randolph, John Van Fleet, Selman Daughrity and Edgar Smith.Mrs. Mellott, who died June 20, was the eldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Woodin and was born on a farm south of Milton in 1860. When she was 6 years old the family moved to the Woodin homestead northeast of Cantril.
She was united in marriage to Hiram Mellott in 1912. Following his death in 1928 she continued to live in her home in Cantril.
Mrs. Mellott leaves a brother, Homer A. Woodin; a sister, Luna Woodin, and a nephew, Frank Woodin, all living in Cantril; one sister, Mrs. Lydia Shull of San Diego Calif.; two nephews, Herman Woodin and Homer Woodin in Colorado, and five nieces, Ina Woodin, Ona Atwood and Iva Cunningham of Colorado, Nannie Woodruff of Minneapolis, Minn. and Mary Shanks of San Diego, Calif.
