Herman Woodin, a long time resident of Des Moines township, this county, and a highly respected citizen, died at his home at 12:30 o'clock, Monday of this week. His health had been on the decline for some years, and his immediate taking off was due to heart trouble. The funeral, we understand, was held at the home on Wednesday. An obituary will probably be furnished us for next week's issue.

(Photocopy of this obit is located on page 62 of Obit Book A found in the Van Buren County, Iowa Genealogical Society's collection at the Keosauqua Public Library in January 2000. Name and date of newspaper not given. Handwritten on obit is "Dec. 13, 1909" which is a Monday. Wife's obituary also states Herman died 13 Dec 1909.)
