SETH FARWELL
April 21, Mr. Seth Farwell departed this life at his home at Granger, Mo. Mr. Farwell was one of the early settlers of Keosauqua, and Mrs. Farwell is a sister of Mrs. J. G. Brown of this place. Mrs. S. W. Ma[n or u?]ding, a neice [sic] and Miss Mabel Farwell, a granddaughter of this place attended the funeral. Mr. Farwell was well known and highly respected in this county and through northern part of Clark county.
Seth Farwell was born in Cheshire county, New Hampshire, April 26, 1824, and died in Granger, Mo, April 21, 1906. Had he lived until April 26 he would have been 82 years of age.
June 3, 1851, he was married to Catherine McArthur of Circleville, O. To this union were born five children: Frank, Fannie, Fred and Fletcher, now living, one son, Dick, dying in infancy.
In 1854 they moved to Keosauqua, Iowa, from here in 1859 to Frederick, Ill., where they lived four years, then returned to Van Buren county, Iowa, for two years, moved to Clark county, Missouri, in 1865, to Scotland county, Missouri, in 1869, where they have since resided. In 1896 they left the old home farm and for ten years had lived at Granger.
In March, 1873, Mr. Farwell was converted and joined the M. E. church, of which he was a zealous member until his death.
