R. E. DUNLAP

R. E. Dunlap was born in Ohio March 17, 1830, and died at his home in Keosauqua, Iowa, Tuesday, Nov. 13, 1906, aged 76 yrs., 7 mos. and 26 days. He was married to Mary Jane Sevier Dec. 24, 1865. To this union were born three children, who, with the mother and two sisters, Mrs. T. J. Smith of Oklahoma, and Mrs. J. A. Cooksey of Keosauqua, remain to mourn. Tuesday morning, the day of his death, he arose in his usual health and at 9 o'clock, after a hearty breakfast, he took his saw to file it, when he complained of a pain in his head, which grew rapidly worse, and before his wife could summon a doctor he was unconscious and from this he never rallied. He died at 12:15 that day. He served during the rebellion as a member of Co. G, Third Iowa Cavalry, and was a [rest of obit cut-off]
