ORPHA HOSKIN

Little Orpha, the youngest child of Neri and Cornelia Hoskin, of Des Moines township, was born Dec. 4, 1905, and died Dec. 14, 1906, being 1 year and 10 days old. She was a very bright child and of such a disposition that all who knew her loved her, but God has called and with aching hearts we give her up and say "Thy will be done." She was with us but a short time, but she was a source of sunshine in the the [sic] home; thus gladdening our hearts. She was a great sufferer for four weeks. She leaves to mourn, father, mother, 4 sisters and 5 brothers. Father, mother, brothers and sisters, you can't understand this that seemeth cruel, but in God's economy its meaning will unfold. If not in time it will in eternity. She that you loved has passed the last post of the enemy. She is now in the ranks of the hosts of God. There she will have a part in whatever the redeemed enjoy. She was sweet and beautiful here, but she will be far more so in the ranks of the juvenile hosts of God. Jesus said, "Of such is the kingdom of Heaven." May the grace of God abide with you in her stead, and keep your hearts and minds in the love of God. By her passing you have a treasure laid up in God's keeping. He will keep till His own good time, then He will bring to the kingdom all his keepsakes. As He takes our children he is only gathering the lambs in His arms. Funeral services were conducted by P. H. Hawk at the home, Sunday at 2 p.m.
