OBITUARY

Died, on March 3, 1894, of congestion of the brain, at the home of his brother, George A. Bowman, Mt. Sterling, Io., John Epos Bowman, of the firm of Bowman Bros. The deceased was born in Marion county, Mo., October 18, 1852, was the son of Dr. H. E. and Mrs. A. M. Bowman, now of Farmington, Iowa. The funeral occurred at Farmington on Sunday, March 4, 1894.

Beginning his business career when a mere youth adopting as his motto "honesty is the best policy", his upright dealings, his kind and generous nature won for him a legion of friends who mourn his death and his funeral car from the town in which he had spent his business life was filled with those true and staunch friends who desired to pay their last tribute of respect. He was a member of Mt. Moriah lodge No. 27, A.F. & A.M. Kadosh Chapter No. 82 R.A.M. also Mizpah Chapter No. 24 O.E.S. all of Farmington, Iowa.
