DIES IN CANADA
Birmingham, Iowa, May 12 - Thomas Clark died at his home in Zealandia, Saskatchewan, Canada, May 3, 1914, after an illness of only a few hours. He was [born] in Westmoreland county, Pennsylvania, August 2, 1852, [being] 69 years and 9 months of [age] at the time of his death. [He] was married to Miss Mar[?] Rose Torrence in 1874 in [Bir]mingham, Iowa. He leaves [to m]orn [sic] his loss the widow, five [chil]dren and eight grandchildren. [He u]nited with the Presbyterian [churc]h at Murraysville, Penn., [at] twenty-seven years of age. [Mr. Cla]rk also leaves two broth[ers] [cut-off] K. Clark of Cantril [cut-off]
This copy of the obit is ragged around the left and bottom margins. I have shown my interpretation in brackets. Also see brother John K. Clark's obit who died a few weeks later which shows additional information. Also note that birth and death dates do not equal Thomas' age given.
