JAMES T. BOLEY

James T. Boley died at the residence of his son Henry Boley, in Hillsboro, Iowa, Jan. 30, 1908. He had made his home with his son since his wife's death in 1900.

Mr. Boley was born in Harrison county, Indiana, Oct. 23, 1824. He came to Iowa in 1840. He was married to Miss Nancy Barger Jany. 19, 1845. Two sons were born to this union, Wesley A., and W. Henry. From the time of his coming to Iowa he lived on a farm west of Hillsboro, Iowa, in the edge of Van Buren county until his wife's death in 1900, save one year spent in Misssouri [sic]. Mr. Boley was a constant reader of the Bible and expressed a hope of salvation as purchased by Christ, the Savior of men. He was a kind father, a respected neighbor and citizen, and a trusted friend. Thus passes to the beyond an old pioneer of Van Buren county. A short burial service was held at the home, conducted by Rev. E. Tibbets, at 1 o'clock p. m. Jany 31, 1908. Interment was in the Coltrane cemetery, six miles north west of Hillsboro.
