JOHN GARDNER

John Gardner was born at Selma, Van Buren county, Iowa, Sept. 4th, 1848, and died at Walkersville, Montana, March 22, 1907. Comrade Gardner was a private soldier in Co. K, 35th Regiment Iowa Infantry. He always made Iowa his home until six years ago when he moved to Montana. He died of pneumonia. He leaves a wife and nine children to mourn their great loss. One son, Thomas, died three months ago of pneumonia. All his children were present at his death except one son, Frank, who resides at Mt. Zion, Iowa, who could not come. Comrade Gardner lived for many years at Leando, where he was highly esteemed by his many friends.
