Robert W. Forbes, a prominent cattleman of Saguache county, died the other day from anthrax, commonly known as blackleg. This disease often attacks sheep and cattle, but seldom human beings. Mr. Forbes’ finger became infected from skinning the carcass of an animal that had anthrax. Shortly afterward a black spot appeared upon his shoulder, followed by others on various parts of the body. Death followed several days’ illness.
