JACOB RIDGLEY FOUND DEAD

Jacob Ridgley was found dead at his home four and one-half miles southwest of Antioch Friday evening by his son, Roy. A rifle near the body told the story of the tragedy.

He was about as usual that day and aparently in good spirits.

Coronor [sic] Dr. R. G. Callihan of Luray, was called and went down Saturday morning and held an inquest.

The deceased was an industrious farmer and good, kind citizen and neighbor.

The jury returned the following verdict:

We, the jury being called to inquire into the death of one Jacob Ridgley, whose dead body here lies before us, and after being duly sworn, hearing the evidence and viewing the body find that the deceased came to his death by a gunshot wound in his head by his own hand at his home in Union township, Clark county, Missouri, on or about the 16th day of April, 1926.--Kahoka Free Press
