DAVID L. HAGLER
David L. Hagler, the youngest of seven children, was born June 27, 1855, and died at his home in Milton, Iowa, April 21st, 1926, aged seventy years, nine months and twentyfour [sic] days.
On February 21, 1877 he was united in married with Emma Smith. To them were born three sons, one of whom died in infancy. On April 22, 1919, the mother of his children passed away and on August 3, 1923, in Ottawa, Kansas, he was again united in marriage to Mrs. Crossfield who has so tenderly and faithfully ministered to him during the months of his last illness.
The deceased was converted and united with Grace Methodist Episcopal church of Milton, Iowa, under the pastorate of Dr. J. Wesley Potter, and continued a faithful member of the same.
David Hagler, having lived his life in this community was well known and highly respected by a large circle of friends. He was an honest, industrious kindly spirited man.
Most of his life was spent on a farm near Milton.
Ten years ago he left the farm and moved to Milton where he has resided since.
For more than a year he has been a sick man and his passing was a happy relief from suffering.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. D. L. Hagler; one sister, Mrs. Susanna Huddleston, of California; the two sons, Glenn F. and Roulett G. both of Milton. There are also five grandchildren and other relatives and many old friends.
The funeral services were held at the Christian church Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev. H. F. Gilbert, interment at the Milton Sunnyside cemetery, the Masonic order, of which he was an honored member, had charge of the services at the grave.
