MRS. SAMUEL HOGUE
Frances Elizabeth Potter, the fourth child of Levi and Catherine A. Potter, was born in Green county, Ohio, August 20, 1850, and departed this life at her home near Keosauqua, Iowa, on Dec. 24, 1929, at the age of 79 years, 4 months and 4 days.
When but a few weeks old her parents came to Iowa and located near Birmingham. While yet a child they moved to Home Prairie neighborhood where she grew to womanhood. After teaching a few years and serving as deputy post master at Home Prairie, she was united in marriage to Samuel C. Hogue on June 3, 1872. To this union seven children were born, Jennie King of Idaho, Lee who died in 1890, Ralph of Eldon, Arthur at home, Catherine Clark of Keosauqua, Edna Logan of Alexis, Ill., and George of Keosauqua, all of whom were permitted to be at her bedside, except Jennie.
At the age of twelve years she united with the M. E. church and remained a faithful member and constant attendant to all church services as long as her health permitted. She read and studied the Bible daily, having read it through a number of times.
She leaves to mourn their loss her husband, six children, fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, besides other more distant relatives. Whose love can equal the love of [rest of obituary cut off]
