ANNA C. BUSBY

Amanda C. Busby, daughter of Granville and Susan A. Busby was born January 19th, 1853, near Vancebury, Lewis county, Kentucky, and died at Cantril, Iowa, June 26th, 1926, aged 73 years, 5 months and 7 days. She was married to William P. Miller, November 25th, 1869. To this union was born one son Walter Miller, who lives at Birmingham, Iowa. She was left without a mother early in life but the Christian teaching of her mother always remained with her. She attended union Sunday school early in life and united with the Presbyterian church. In 1874, when she was 20 years old, she, with her husband and son moved to Illinois where they lived for one year and then moved to Missouri where the family lived until 1910 when they moved to Cantril, Iowa. After moving to Missouri she united with the Baptist church at Prairie View and remained a member of this church as long as she lived. She was baptized by the Rev. W. Kittle. She leaves one brother, Mr. G. W. Busby near Azen, Missouri, and two sisters, Mrs. Marquis, of Granger, Missouri; Mrs. Luman of Sheridan, Wyoming; also one half brother, C. G. Busby of Oklahoma City. She raised one foster daughter May Nelson now Mrs. Wesley Kerr, living near Azen, Missouri. She always tok great interest in religious work and was active in church work as long as she lived and was able to attend. For several years she had not had sufficient health to attend church, but always appreciated the presence of the pastor and devotions. And so a magnificient [sic] soul and one much loved by all who knew her has fallen asleep to awake in the larger life. Full of virtue and good works she has come to her rest in peace and [rest of obituary cut off]
